Refund Policy

iShruti is committed to fair outcomes for both Organizers and Speakers. This Refund Policy describes when refunds are available, how to request one, and what to expect.
1. Refund Eligibility
Eligible for Full Refund
- Cancellation within 7 days of payment, provided the event is more than 30 days away
- Speaker cancellation initiated by the Speaker (not force majeure) with fewer than 30 days' notice — Organizer receives a full refund; iShruti does not charge commission on canceled engagements
- Material misrepresentation on a speaker's profile verified by iShruti (e.g., fabricated credentials that were not disclosed before booking)
- Platform error causing a duplicate or erroneous charge
Eligible for Partial Refund (50%)
- Cancellation made 8–30 days after payment and more than 14 days before the event
Not Eligible for Refund
- Events that have been delivered as agreed, regardless of subjective satisfaction with the content
- Cancellations made fewer than 14 days before the event (except force majeure — see Section 3)
- No-shows by the Organizer
- Situations where the Organizer fails to provide agreed logistics (venue, AV, accommodation) causing a speaker cancellation
2. How to Request a Refund
- Log in to your Organizer dashboard at ishruti.org/dashboard
- Navigate to the booking in question
- Click "Request Refund" and complete the reason form
- Alternatively, email billing@ishruti.org with your booking ID and reason
iShruti will acknowledge your request within 1 business day and issue a decision within 5 business days.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days (timing depends on your bank or card issuer).
3. Force Majeure
Neither party is penalized for cancellations caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters, declared national emergencies, or acts of war
- Government-ordered travel bans or venue closures (e.g., pandemic restrictions)
- Sudden serious illness or bereavement of the Speaker
In force majeure situations:
- iShruti will facilitate rescheduling as the first option
- If rescheduling is not possible, the Organizer receives a full refund minus payment processing fees (typically 2.9%)
- The Speaker is not penalized in their platform standing
To claim force majeure, provide documentation to billing@ishruti.org within 48 hours of the triggering event.
4. Disputes
If you disagree with a refund decision, you may appeal by emailing disputes@ishruti.org. iShruti's final decision on refund disputes is binding under the Terms of Service arbitration clause.
Chargebacks filed without first going through iShruti's dispute process may result in account suspension and forfeiture of future platform credits.
